Let's install some BEARD Seats!

I decided to write a full install of my new Beard Super Style Racing Seats. My entire experience dealing with Beard has been great and as always I love bringing business to good people. Below is a complete but brief installation of the Bolt-On Toyota Tacoma Beard Seat Mounts/Sliders and the installation of the Beard Super Style Racing Seats.
Step 1.

Remove your stock seats using a 14mm wrench as shown in the picture below.

Go ahead and pull the seat out after you have removed all four seat bolts. 2 in front and 2 in the rear.

Step 2.

Open and identify all of the parts and tools you will need to use in order to finish the job!

Don't forget your tools. All you need for this job is a 14mm wrench and a 9/16 wrench.

Open the parts supplied by BEARD

You should have 2 sets of sliders/mounts, a parts bag and 2 replacement seat belts

Let's take a closer look at what's in the parts bag. You should have enough bolts, nuts and washers for 8 mounting points. 4 on each seat. You will also have 2 slider springs, 1 for each seat.

Step 3

Identify which set of sliders is for the drivers and the passengers seat. The slider lever should go in the inside of the drivers seat closest to the center armrest. I suggest before mounting the sliders you go to your local hardware store and upgrade your seat bolts. I have added longer rear seat bolts to mine because after adding the new seat belt to the rear seat bolt the stock ones were not long enough. Longer bolts also gave me peace of mind.

Step 4

Install the sliders and seat belts. Using your factory bolts (or upgraded) mount the sliders in their appropriate locations. There is no drilling required as the sliders are made to bolt into the stock seatmount holes.

Before mounting your seats make sure to grab those new seat belts and mount then through the rear seat bolt like so:

Then go ahead and finish bolting your sliders in place.

I did notice when installing mine there is a good amount of factory carpet pad that runs under the carpet close to the seat mounting points. You can either pull the carpet up and remove some of the pad or push the mounts down with some force and the pad will flatten. I did not remove the pad on mine and they installed just fine.

Step 5

Now you should have all 4 sliders in place.

Take the slider springs and attach them across each set of sliders allowing them to slide together using the adjustment lever that extends out in front of each seat.

This picture shows the left side spring installed.

This picture shows the right side spring installed.

When the spring is installed it should look like this.

Step 6

Now you are ready to bolt the seats to the sliders! See how easy this is you are almost done!

Make sure the seat mounts on the bottom of each seat are mounted to the OUTSIDE of the slider rail as shown below.

Rear bolted

Beard supplied you will top quality Grade 8 bolts. Make sure you use the supplied washer on each bolt and tighten down firmly before sitting in your new seat. Install both seats the same way and make sure the mounts are tight.

Check it out you are done! I want to thank Matt for helping me install the seats and take pictures.
